Reference management tool released
Hello,
We finally launched the first experiment for the Google Application Engine (GAE) and hosting: ReferenceBot
www.ReferenceBot.com
Some interesting metrics:
- Designed in 1 hour
- Developed in Django in 7 days
- Ported to GAE in 2 days
- Manages everything with only 3 tables
- Incorporates viral features
The application is of course free to use. Let’s see how they work out, please go ahead and try it out.

Core-G Software
We are finishing v1.11 of Core-G, a hosted solution for coregistration and lead brokerage management and automation for online lead generation.
We’ve been looking for heavy beta testers for a month now, posting in groups, social networking sites, forums, everywhere! We found some interested parties but nothing serious so far… So if you are an internet marketer in the CPA / CPL field, please, please! give us a call so we can thoroughly test this!
Take a look at it at www.coreg-software.com.
Regarding the ‘nothing serious’, I guess people just say ‘I’m interested’ or ‘oh yeah, I’ll try it out’ just for the sake of it, consciously knowing that they are not interested, they will not try it and they will not call you back. I think same applies to all other situations. Bottom line, people just say ‘yes’ just to be nice, which I guess I don’t agree with it. Fear of rejection? the need to ‘be likable’ by everybody? insecurity? I have no idea… won’t lose sleep over it, I will just stop being so optimistic about people’s behavior, manners and basic ethics …
Good night!
Marcelo

Back to basics
Wow it’s been a while since we wrote the last post.
We’ve been catching up with some delayed stuffs but the economic situation is affecting our clients and therefore affecting us.
Nevertheless we have been working on new products such as Core-G which we are currently testing (take a peek http://www.coreg-software.com), a full blown e-commerce and workflow platform in Django and OO programming for the OSSIM Program (we will announce this project in a near future).
We added a new link on our website so you can follow us up on Twitter, or you can go directly http://www.twitter.com/softwaresol
Stay tuned!

Happy New Year!
It’s been a while, we were all on vacation but now back to the rat race…
VEETS is on hold since the police department is too busy and we can’t get feedback from them yet.
We are wrapping up our fifth system developed in Django: Core-G, a high-performance web application for Internet marketing agencies to manage and automate their campaigns, offers and financials.
We also started a simulation program project in C++, that incorporates biophysics and fluids dynamic modeling, we will post news as soon as they happen.
We hope you had a great 2009 beginning in these times of uncertainty.

VEETS update
Turns out the AtMega8 IC microcontroller is working properly. The non-standard USB cable that we used had all the colors wrong. Therefore the prototype is up and running.
Here is a picture of the prototype without the encasing:

VEETS prototype
For those who want to experiment with USB cables, here is a useful link:

Next step: re-adjusting the satellite software and field tests… stay tuned

Borland
We reinstalled Borland’s JBuilder Java compiler. Not sure why, but we’ve always liked Borland products. We’ve been using Borland Compilers (Turbo Pascal - our favorite…) ever since 1989. Too bad they’re not doing more compilers.
We just visited their site and they shifted their business model to Application Lifecycle Management Tools.

VEETS Update
For all those who did not have a chance to visit our old site (we did not transfer yet our old posts, since we used an in-house bilingual blog application), VEETS (in a nutshell) is a project Software Solutions is doing in conjunction with the West Palm Beach Police Department to track evidence via GPS in high-speed auto pursuits.
We received a AtMega8 IC microcontroller to connect the buttons via USB to the patrol laptop. Unfortunately, for some reason is not working, either for the non-standard USB cable we used, or the chip came defective, which means… another 2 weeks of delay for this project (it’s not an IC that we can get at RadioShack).

Our second design for 2008
Yes, we changed our website again. We kept the colors and logo, but changed the layout and added black into the mix. Our marketing company, CrearT, finalized the new campaign “Intelligence applied” with a new brochure, a new website and the domain name matching the campaign name. There will probably be more little changes here and there, but the basics are here. Kudos for our marketing consultant… enjoy!
